The Univotel Story
Every September, the same scene plays out: the joy of getting into university gives way, within a week, to one question — “Where will I stay?” State dorm results run late and quotas fill up. Private dormitory prices strain families. And renting a flat becomes a project of its own: deposit, guarantor, furniture, utility contracts.
In 2023, we decided to change that picture. But what we really wanted to change was the question itself: not “where can a student stay?” but “where does a student live best?”
We found the answer in an unexpected place: quality hotels in the heart of the city. These buildings already had everything a student needs — security, cleaning, private bathrooms, central locations. So we adapted them to academic life: a 9-month contract, all bills in one price, no deposit, and shared spaces designed around students.
Today we offer hotel comfort at dormitory prices in more than 20 locations across Istanbul, serving students of 55+ universities. But what we're proudest of isn't the numbers — it's a family finally relaxing after dropping off their child in Istanbul for the first time, and that student saying “this feels like home” a month later. This is just the beginning.
